Preeti Gupta, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow, National Institute of Health

Preeti Gupta is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mouse Cancer Genetics Program, National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Health, Maryland, USA. Her research area primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms that alter chromatin structure and function during development. Currently, she is trying to understand the molecular functions of chromatin remodeler LSH (Lymphoid specific helicase) and how the mutations in the LSH gene perturb the process of DNA methylation in the human Immunodeficiency–centromeric instability–facial anomalies syndrome 4 (ICF4) syndrome.

Preeti Gupta earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology India. She further worked as a National Post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences (CIRBSc), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, India, wherein her project was focused on identifying small therapeutic molecules targeting various human kinases involved in carcinogenesis and neurodegenerative disorders. She has been awarded various prestigious fellowships and awards in support of her academic and research pursuits, including Visiting Fellow award from NIH (USA), National Postdoctoral Fellowship (NPDF) from DST-SERB, CSIR NET-JRF, ICMR-JRF and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-IIT Guwahati). Her academic contributions are reflected in multiple peer-reviewed publications in reputed scientific journals.
