PyPAn or Python-based Protein Analysis, is an efficient Graphical User Interface for majority of protein analysis techniques. It has the ability to perform complex mathematical computations within minutes. It has a unique simplicity that is lacking in majority of applications in the field. PyPAn has a wide variety of parameters and features that can be experimented and used in a very useful way. The analytical tools in possession of PyPAn are as follows:
-
Protein Modelling Advise: From the given protein sequence, the tool describes the best possible way to model the query sequence.
-
Protein structure refinement: From the given protein structure in PDB file format, PyPAn provides the user with either a minimized/refined structure with better energy or computes the energy of the given protein, according to the option chosen by the user.
-
Multiple protein sequence alignment: From the given FASTA file with more than 3 sequence files, the tool provides the user with an alignment file and a distance matrix for the same.
-
Protein structure analysis: From the given PDB protein file, the tool provides the user with the total, polar and non-polar Solvent Accessible Surface Area (SASA), a Ramachandran plot and the radius of gyration for the protein.
-
Protein sequence analysis: From the given protein sequence file in FASTA format, PyPAn provides the user with a multitude of parameters, analyzed through Biopython.
